Terre d'Hermes opens with bitter orange and grapefruit over a flinty, mineral facet before drying into vetiver, cedar and patchouli with a touch of pepper. It reads clean and outdoorsy rather than heavy, and its citrus-to-earth arc became a template other woody masculines still follow.
