Fzotic is an independent fragrance studio founded in 2012 by painter-turned-perfumer Bruno Fazzolari, who is self-taught and creates each perfume himself at his home studio without outside investment or market testing.

In their own words

Reproduced from their about page. The words are theirs.

I founded my brand in 2012. We're a small, independent fragrance studio inspired by art, not market research. We've grown with no outside investment.

Scent is deeply personal. Every fragrance here was created by me in my studio.

I'm a painter who taught myself perfumery. I still approach scent the way I approached painting: technically obsessed, and guided by what feels true, not what tests well.

This studio didn't start as a business plan.

I was an underpaid art professor, spending what little free time I had in my painting studio. Somewhere along the way, I started blending fragrances while I worked on my paintings. Scent was another way to explore color, texture, and mood.

I exhibited my fragrances with my paintings. Word got out.

The fragrance community found me, and I found them. That connection changed everything.

I taught myself perfumery through years of trial and error.

That means I'm free to break the rules I never learned.

Early validation came from the fragrance world itself: Luca Turin gave Lampblack four stars, Artforum named it a Top Ten. That told me the work could hold it’s own with formally trained perfumers.

Today, every fragrance starts at my workbench in my home studio. Slow development. Testing. Revision. No committees. No trend forecasting.
