Sorce is an independently owned perfume studio based in Charlotte, North Carolina, founded by Caitlin Hayes, a self-taught perfumer and former middle school English teacher. The brand launched in May 2022 under the name Sorcellerie Apothecary before shortening its name to Sorce in June 2024, drawing on the Latin root "sors," meaning fate.
The company hand-blends its fragrances in small batches and handles production in-house. It opened its first studio space in Charlotte in 2023 and moved to a larger location in the city in October 2024, where it also carries fragrances from other artisan perfume brands.
