Petrichor

Petrichor is the classic essence of the ground after it rains. Geosmin is released from dry soil when it is permeated with rain, the moisture then evaporating to fill the air with an earthy sweetness. Humidity holds the calming essence of the surrounding trees as the rain dries from the leaves.

Accords are different than a typical perfume because of the way they are approached by the perfumer. The goal of an accord is to create a singular recognizable essence, even if many different materials go into making it. This allows the perfumer to create notes that cannot be naturally derived otherwise, as well as enhance a material to bring out its fullest beauty. Accords are not formulated based on longevity or balance, but instead they express the perfumer's take on a well-known scent.
