Amorphous Perfume

Amorphous Perfume is the perfume house of multidisciplinary artist Kalliope Amorphous. Her conceptual fragrance work has been developed for nearly two decades, originally under the name Black Baccara. In late 2023, the house evolved into Amorphous Perfume.

Fragrance is approached here as an artistic medium rather than a decorative one. Each composition is developed and shaped by memory, atmosphere, and emotional resonance. The work favors depth over trend and interior experience over mass market conventions.

Kalliope’s background in visual art informs every stage of her perfumery practice, with fragrance functioning as a parallel medium within her larger body of work. Themes explored in her visual work reappear in scent through atmosphere, structure, and emotional register rather than literal reference.

Amorphous Perfume exists as part of a broader artistic practice in which scent serves as a means of exploring interiority, authorship, longing, emotions, and memory. These are perfumes meant to be lived with, revisited, and experienced, often revealing themselves differently over time.
