About the house

Written by the library. The maker has no about page we could quote; corrections are welcome.

Pekji is an independent perfume house based in Istanbul, Turkey. It was founded by Ömer İpekçi, who began making perfumes as a self-taught perfumer around 2013 and launched the brand officially in 2018, after several years in which his perfumes circulated among a small, dedicated following of enthusiasts.

Before working in perfumery, İpekçi worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. He has described approaching perfume as a personal medium of expression rather than a social signal, and has said he chooses materials based on how they fit a composition rather than on their cost, naturalness or rarity.

The house's early release, the Re:Re:Collection (2018), comprises five fragrances built around themes of memory, culture and identity, with reference points drawn from the history of the Bosphorus region. A second collection, Reset (2021), followed with four fragrances framed around renewal and self-reflection. Pekji's perfumes are produced as extrait de parfum.
