Maher Olfactive is the work of perfumer Shawn Maher, who is based in Saint Louis, Missouri. He had previously founded the fragrance house Chatillon Lux in 2015 before starting Maher Olfactive in 2020 as a separate line.
Where Chatillon Lux drew on the history of his hometown, Maher created Maher Olfactive to work without the budget or material restrictions of a more commercial line, using it to explore less common raw materials and personal ideas in eau de parfum and extrait de parfum form.
Maher was a finalist for the 2020 Art and Olfaction Awards and received an honorable mention in the 2023 edition of the same awards.
