The Scent:

A glowing, warm, and elusive fragrance. Vanilla mist, white woods, warm rice milk, almond flower, wild heliotrope, just the barest hint of white spices.

The Story:

It begins with a feeling, a tingle and a twinge that there is something just out of sight waiting for you, calling for you. Something to find. You first catch a glimpse as you gaze out into the night trying to place the feeling. It is just a small flicker, a barely there glow. It is such a lovely little thing, a small warmth that cuts through the darkness. What could this little glimmer of magic be? You find yourself moving closer trying to getting a better look.

Just as you are near enough to really the the source of the light, it vanishes. Coldness seems fall upon you. You feel an unexplained sadness, a sense of loss fall over you. Just as you begin to turn back you catch another flick out of the corner of your eyes. Yes! There it is, just a little way off the path. It seems so much more solid now, a stronger light. You are sure that you will be able to see what it is making the light. As you walk towards it, you can feel the warmth returning, a happy feeling. The light is so much more steady now. Just about there. You start to reach out your hand towards the light when it vanishes leaving only moonlight, shadows, and mist. There again, just a head you! Now you are becoming frantic to catch the light. Careful tentative footsteps turn into clumsy hurried leaps as the craving for the warmth of the light takes hold. Again and again, the light here and gone and there again. You are running now, through grabbing branches and gnarled roots, never close enough to the elusive light.

Suddenly you stumble out into a small clearing. The grass is soft, the moonlight shines down, holding the shadows back. Even the mist seems to be held back by the encircling trees. Your dress torn, your hands and feet battered, leaves tangled in your hair you suddenly realize you are well and truly lost. You turn in a circle and see nothing familiar nor are there any more lights. The cold begins to drape around you, leaving you hopeless and afraid.

In exhaustion you sink down to your knees. Tears are starting to fill your eyes when a light flickers on just at the edge of the clearing in front of you. Then another aside of it, and another. The lights are appearing all around you until you are surrounded and at that moment, somehow, you know you were lured here.
