Himalayan Musk 2017

Rising Phoenix was THE first company to start making and offering genuine Musk Attars.

The first one I offered was in 2016 - a "Mongolian Fried" batch I made back in 2011 from a batch of 1940's Mysore, and a specialty type of preserved Musk from Mongolia known as "fried Musk". It was, and remains, an international sensation amongst collectors.

I've made quite a few since. Patiently aging and awaiting their turn.

Mine are a special breed - as I use vintage batches of Mysore, very HIGH % concentrations (which means I also lose a lot of oil to the grains) of Musk - and then I age them for a MINIMUM of 5 years, which is unheard of.

Everyone tries to make them as quickly as possible for sale and gives them 6 months, maybe 1 year of aging. Imagine the expense - and the patience - to make multiple batches of meaningful size. To collect enough quantity of rare, very expensive Vintage Mysore Sandalwood oils (and not every vintage batch survived time... about 1 in 6 batches I get I find suitable for my purposes in making these). And then to procure and make use of large quantities of Musk just to make a single batch. It is a tremendous expense that goes in to making these.

This particular batch is made from 1980's Mysore and an exquisite batch of Himalayan Musk that I picked up from a trusted resource while traveling over in the Middle East.

I do not often offer these publicly, but I wanted to get a superb batch up for our Anniversary.

Although I started the company in 2011 - it was 2014 around Black Friday / Christmas that the company took on the more familiar form that we have operated as for the last 10 years, and as such 2024 is a bit of a 10 Year Anniversary for us. I wanted to put some really unique products out to celebrate this Anniversary - and Himalayan Musk Attar 2017 is one of them.

I'm known for some unusual stuff - and I'd say this is definitely unique. Wont find anything like it, anywhere else!

Genuine Musk doesn't usually smell like what people think it will smell like. This is your opportunity to become familiar with a genuine specimen and figure out what all the fuss is about!

It exalts whatever it is added to, magically, and pairs wonderfully with Florals, Oud and other woods. Further aging will only beautify this delightful Attar.
