Ajedrez (chess) transports us to a 1960s chess players’ dimly lit room, where the air gently exudes the elegant fragrance of a well-dressed gentleman; dry spices, iris, a hint of tobacco, and moss. The game develops slowly, like Frassaï’s carefully crafted perfumes.

Time can move forward, or backward. Time is inverted. Sometimes, it seems to stand still. The pause gains importance. In standing still, there is movement.
