Imagine you poured date syrup over cacao nibs and took a bite. That’s kinda what carob smells like. Have you ever heard of it being used in a musk perfume?

What about Oud Extraordinaire (Rayong), its notes of sweet thick jam transmuting Bourbon vetiver?

Apricot and musk? Yes, drenched in Indian oud with a touch of spice. And topped with 1 gram of the most luxurious multilayered baklava of kinam there is— Royal Kinam

A Spaniard on horseback, leather garb in the Mediterranean summer, stopping to pluck out ginger root amidst fields of camomile. Honey and cinnamon sprinkled into a brew of 70s Mysore granules.

To sweeten the animlic blast of musk that comes at you from every side, there’s beeswax and jasmine flexile, ‘taruni’, while vintage Timor sandalwood lowers the pitch a notch to make this a musk perfume that’s easy to show off.

And with vintage Tibetan musk as the carrier – proper pods sliced open, then steeping the grains at close to 20%.

The scent is tenacious, even a touch sweaty – what happens when spices meet real musk and the mighty agallocha. A sweet pheromonal rawness that’s inviting to wear and will make an impression at any occasion.

Wearing Musc Morisco for the 3rd time, went with 2 sprays to the chest. The scent profile here is ethereal with some lightness feel to it, which can easily be confused and mistaken as a weak performer. This time around, I’m able to pick up the notes a lot more pronounced. It still opens with a blast of musk with the same animalic facet as the Tibetan Musk PP, not as dense but it’s very prominent, the musk here from MM is more jammy, sweeter, and fruitier.

This is quite a different take on musk, it’s not as spicy as any other EO Musks that I was accustomed to, the Oud may also have enhanced the fruitiness but it is gentle and calm here, it doesn’t jump out to grab your attention. Then there’s the beautiful sandalwood in the background, with a medium density, not too heavy, not too light, it’s just right. Along with the jasmine and other floral accords, and a slight hint of rooty and dustiness.

I think this is by far the prettiest and most playful musk perfume ever released by EO, either the juice is evolving or my perception is starting to change and adapt to it. I found the best way to enjoy and appreciate this one, is to wear it after a perfume break, if I was wearing something heavy during the day, and I sprayed this at night then my worn-out olfactory wouldn’t be able to pick up as many notes. But if I didn’t wear anything the night before, and sprayed this the next morning, then all the notes are much clearer, and more vivid.

I’m still trying to figure out something in the far dry down from this MM, a familiar facet but I still can’t quite put my fingers on what exactly is it yet. I’ll continue to give it a few more wearings before I form a more permanent opinion, but so far I’m digging this release, not quite the same love I have for Moshpit Pavarotti just yet, but I think it’s leaning that way.

Overall, this is very much a unisex scent profile, I can certainly see females rocking this one, there are more than enough florals and sandalwood in this to please everyone. Spray this sparingly, 2 to 3 spritiz is more than enough, or you may end up nose blind to it, and like every other release, you should sample it first if at all possible.

If you sat next to someone wearing this, you’d no doubt get distracted. “What is that?” You’d want to smell it again. And again. You’d want it.
