You walk nervously towards the automatic doors of the hardware store. You really need new lightbulbs, you've been putting it off for a week. You approach slowly. Try to map out the store in your mind so you can get in and out as quickly as possible. You rush in and hear, "Have a holly jolly Christmas...." and sigh in relief. You hurry to the lightbulbs and try to pick one before the song changes but there are one million options and you are starting to sweat. You grab 3 random boxes and as you are trotting to the register the song changes and you hold your breath...

"Iiiiiii'm...... dreaming of a whiiiiiiite, Christmas....."

Okay, it's Go Time. You wait in line. There are only 2 people, how is it taking this long? You see a cute little snow globe toy to your left, and, lulled into a sense of 2 minute security, impulsively pick it up, and then it's your turn to check out.

You stride up and dump your things on the counter.

"Did you find everything today?"

"Yup."

"Do you have a rewards card with us?"

"Oh, uh, no."

"Would you like to sign up for one?"

(You hear the song coming to an end...)

"No thanks!" You pull out your card and start to frantically go through the prompts on the reader.

"Would you like to round up to the nearest dollar to give to sad children?"

"Uh, okay yeah sure."

"Great! Would you like a bag?"

"No thanks." You take a deep breath as you hear "Jingle bell Jingle bell Jingle bell rock..."

You exit the store calmly, having just survived another box store onslaught. You get in your car, careful not to play the radio. You arrive home and install your new lightbulbs. Later you give your girlfriend the snowglobe as a cute little present, and she loves it. Then she presses a little button you didn't see before and you hear "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart..."

You lost.
