Civet 2023

I'm known for some unusual stuff - and I'd say this is definitely unique.

I made this Attar from a batch of non-Ethiopian Civet and one of my exquisite batches of Mysore Sandalwood oil.

I have a lot of unique relationships, one of them with a traditional Medicine man in Thailand. He raises these Civets as pets. No animals are caged. All are loved and well-taken care of, and have his entire property to roam around.

Civet is used quite prolifically in Thai medicine, and in traditional Thai perfumery - and as a medicine man, himself, he figured he should be raising and harvesting his own if he wanted the best possible material. He's been raising his pets for quite a few years, now.

Civet is known for smelling quite a bit fecal at full strength. One of the keys to knowing good quality, especially in dilution, is that the material will develop a floral tone to it. Most material out there will smell quite linear and poopy... this material I have here you can literally smell the happiness.

Winter Harvest is the BEST material - both in terms of scent, as well as for it's value in terms of potency. This here I had him harvest just for me in the Winter of 2023, and it's been gently aging since then.

This can be worn as-is. Don't get me wrong - it's a strong material - but it's a beautiful material. It can also be layered. Civet exalts florals magically, and pairs wonderfully with Oud and other woods. Further aging will only beautify this delightful Attar.
