Étude No. 06: Maté

Steeped too long, maté turns bitter enough to pucker the mouth — and most perfumers, borrowing it, file that bitterness off before it ever reaches skin. This Étude uses Robertet's Maté NHS, a headspace capture of the leaf still green with sap: sharp tea at first breath, cooling into something drier — tobacco, leather, the hush of a dried thing — never an isolated molecule, because it travels the whole way through la Un.e, the constant eau de parfum every Étude is written against. What you're wearing is always a finished perfume, never a fragment.

Reads as: green, tea, tobacco.
