Distilled over 16 continuous days using a new-generation copper and glass apparatus—under boiling point but under full control—Emperor Yunnan is a tribute to precision, patience, and the rarest expression of Aquilaria sinensis from the mist-veiled Yunnan province of China.
It opens with a striking contrast: bittersweet manuka honey drips into kinetic swirls of incense, creating a fragrant tension between warmth and clarity. Then comes a strange, ethereal bloom—an abstract “blue” note, reminiscent of crushed lilac petals and cold spring air, elusive yet captivating.
As it settles, the oil sinks into a grounded, meditative elegance. The drydown reveals acadamia nuts wrapped in soft shadows of green tea, all nestled in the creamy, gently resinous core of Yunnan agarwood. It is refined yet primal—soothing, surreal, and undeniably noble.
