Rhinos, elephants, a troop of hyraxes scared of leopards on the rocky canyon – a wild aroma, a perfume that by itself would have been a pure blast of animalics battered with spices.

But just beyond, kudus and crocodiles trample the pink lotus petals in the pond before you hit the coast to watch dolphin fins pierce the waves. Sweet air turns into salty zest. Red frangipanis line the shore.

Because it’s such a meeting-of-worlds concept and in many ways a meeting of contrasts, Mozambique was one of the projects that’s been longest in the making…

The grassland planes of the Savanna with its sweet summer air, leadwood bushwillows basking in the sun, yet tropical. Lemon apple salad oceanside in a rose garden lined with sage. Grass as far as the eye can see. And a downpour of oud – Papuan, Sri Lankan, and Sumatran.

Special batches of pink lotus and frangipani take the lead in a juicy dense sweet floral heart that cracks through midway between the tropico-earthy, grassy-oceanside top notes and the fat mix of musk and oud in the base that pulls all the sweet zest from the top down with it.

This is not a ‘fresh’ surfer’s aftershave kinda scent, but an islander perfume you wear on Safari.

Totally, Hemingway would have worn it – gun slung over his shoulder on his way to the porch after the hunt to kick back and light a cigar as he looks out over the Savanna; the grass, the musk of wildebeest and hyrax, floating lilies and dangling frangies, and the sound of waves crashing.

He takes another spitz, even though he’s right there…

Featured Testimonials…

This is fresh, potent spices mixed together perfectly. Earthy with a tropical herbal salty ocean air. When the Oud hits it becomes a much woodier and darker version of this mixture with a spicey rich resinous feeling to it.

Definitely a beautiful refreshing wear for a cool summer evening with a breeze. Another work of art you can not only smell but look upon as well with the beautiful golden plaque.
