SourceKawthar (Arabic: الكَوْثَر) is an Arabic term with profound meanings, often associated with abundance, blessings, and goodness. It is derived from the root word كَثَرَ (ka-tha-ra), meaning “to increase” or “to be plentiful.” Within the Islamic Context: Al-Kawthar refers to a special spring or fountain in Paradise granted to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Kawthar is our second offering from our Ramadan Caravan. Our first being Thuraya.
The journey to compose Kawthar began with the thought of thirst during Ramadan. Kawthar represents the scent of the blissful cool drinks enjoyed during Ramadan, the drink that many look forward to at the time of breaking the fast. It is a nostalgic aroma for anyone who has experienced Ramadan in a Muslim country.
I have always loved this aroma, it is filled with good memories, special moments of devotion and prayer, family and community. I thought to myself, how wonderful it would be to have this in a bottle, more easily said than done
After months of working on Kawthar, testing and tweaking, then aging. We are proud of this most amazing of scent. Be careful, Kawthar will make you extra tasty. The overall smell is luxurious, slightly sweet, and evocative of celebration and tradition, making it a delightful presence.
The dominant note is a lovely milky floral aroma of roses, jasmine, and peppermint giving it a refreshing and soothing quality. Followed by light hints of mixed fruits, often perceived as a combination of citrus and sweet tropical notes, adding a vibrant freshness. Subtle herbal and earthy undertones come from the mix of oud, musk and pandanus, contributing to its complexity.
Finally the creaminess from Mysore sandalwood, oud and ambergris fusing together to carry a mild, creamy warmth that balances the floral sweetness, creating a harmonious and inviting scent.
Kawthar, the aroma to build good memories with.
